PitSense is a community of people organized to respond to the unprincipled proliferation of aggregate mines in Caledon. We are opposed to the continuing 'Domino Effect' expansion of open pit mines and quarries in the rural residential areas of the Niagara Escarpment and UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.

One 'DOMINO' at a time, the Niagara Escarpment is being excavated.
The resulting disruption and damage lasts for decades, or perhaps forever.
We believe that, at some point, this exploitation of our irreplaceable Provincial Heritage must stop.
There is no shortage of aggregate resources in Canada.
We do not need to continue on our present course.
Alternatives are available. In fact many of the alternatives now being discussed
would provide economic benefits and new employment opportunities to Ontarians.
Why not wake up to these opportunities now?
