PROTECTING our Escarpment

The McCormick pit application calls for a 100acre, 7 stories below-water-table aggregate extraction mine on Heart Lake Rd. in a rural residential area. This is in addition to the 2700+ acres ALREADY being mined in Caledon. Aggregate operations are leaving scars that are permanent. It is time to rethink what we are doing to our Escarpment!

Every little bit helps!

Caledon is already home to 2800+ acres of open-pit aggregate mines. It is time to re-think our priorities, analyze our needs and develop a coordinated plan for the future.

Do we really need

more of this sort of devastation and the health, safety, and economic risks it brings to our rural residential community?
